Benelli 650 Tornado (1973-74)

The Benelli 650 Tornado S2 was a motorcycle produced by Italian manufacturer Benelli from 1973 to 1974. It was powered by a parallel twin cylinder, four stroke engine with a capacity of 642.8 cc and a maximum power output of 52 horsepower. The engine was cooled by air and featured two Dell’Orto VHB 29 carbs and a compression ratio of 8.0:1. The bike had both electric and kick start options and a multiplate, wet clutch. The transmission was 5-speed and the final drive was a chain. The front suspension was Marzocchi tele-hydraulic forks and the rear suspension was a swinging arm with adjustable shocks. Braking was done by drum brakes, with 4 leading shoes in the front and drums in the rear. The bike had a dry weight of 210 kg and a fuel capacity of 17 L. The front and rear tires measured 3.50-18 and 4.00-18 respectively.
