The Bimota YB4 IE SP motorcycle was produced in a limited run of 15 units in 1988. It features a four stroke, transverse four cylinder engine with DOHC and 5 valves per cylinder. The bike has a capacity of 749 cc and a compression ratio of 11.2:1. It also has a Weber Marelli electronic fuel injection system and CDI ignition. The motorcycle has a maximum power output of 89 kW (121 hp) at 10500 rpm and a maximum torque of 88.3 Nm (65.1 ft-lbs) at 8500 rpm. The bike has a six-speed transmission and a chain final drive.

The frame of the YB4 IE SP is made of two diagonal beams in section bar made of aluminum with internal ribbing. The front suspension features 42mm gas telescopic forks with external adjustment for anti-dive, while the rear suspension has a gas single shock with external adjustment.
