Bimota YB7 (1988 )

The Bimota YB7 was a motorcycle produced in 1988 with only 321 units made. It was equipped with a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder, DOHC engine with a capacity of 399cc and a compression ratio of 11.5:1. The bike had a liquid-cooled system and 4x 38mm Mikuni induction. It was capable of producing a maximum power of 48.5 kW/65 hp at 12000 rpm and maximum torque of 38.2 Nm/3.9 kg-m/28.2 lb-ft at 9500 rpm. The Bimota YB7 had a 6-speed transmission and a chain final drive. The frame was made of two diagonal beams of aluminum with internal ribbing, while the cylinders were supported by plates bolted to the beams, and the swingarm was made of aluminum. The front suspension had external adjustment for anti-dive and was equipped with 42mm Marzocchi M1R’s, while the rear suspension had a single Ahlins shock absorber with external adjustment. The front brakes had 2x 280mm discs, while the rear brakes had a single 230mm disc. The Bimota YB7 had a front tire size of 120/60-17 and a rear tire size of 160/60-17.
