BMW S1000XR (2015)
The BMW S1000XR is a sport touring motorcycle model that was first introduced in 2015. It is a combination of the high-performance S1000RR sport bike and the upright riding position and comfort of the GS adventure bikes.
One of the key features of the S1000XR is its powerful engine, which is a liquid-cooled 999cc inline-four that produces 160 horsepower and 83 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed transmission with a slipper clutch, and BMW’s Quickshifter Pro system is available as an option.
The S1000XR also has a number of advanced electronics, including BMW’s Dynamic ESA suspension, which adjusts the shock damping and spring preload automatically based on the road conditions and riding style. Other features include ABS, traction control, and multiple riding modes, including a customizable “User” mode.
In terms of comfort and convenience, the S1000XR has a fully adjustable windscreen, a comfortable saddle, and optional heated grips and saddlebags. The bike also has a relatively upright riding position, which makes it more comfortable for longer trips.
Overall, the BMW S1000XR is a versatile motorcycle that is well-suited for both sport riding and touring. It is powerful, comfortable, and packed with advanced electronics and features that make it a joy to ride.
