BSA Dandy (1957-62)

The BSA Dandy motorcycle was produced from 1957 to 1962. It had a 70 cc, 2-stroke, single cylinder engine with a bore and stroke of 45 x 44 mm and a compression ratio of 7.25:1. The bike had both a kick start and a hand-operated start. The clutch was a dry plate and the transmission had 2 speeds with a pre-selector. The final drive was via chain. The frame was constructed from steel pressings and was an open loop, seam-welded construction. The front suspension was a leading bottom link fork and the rear suspension used coil springs. The front and rear wheels were both 2.5 x 15 inches in size and had drum brakes measuring 4 inches. The bike had a top speed of around 50 km/h or 31 mph, and came in light green, honey beige, and dark lavender grey colors. The fuel capacity was 3.4 L or 0.9 US gallons, and the dry weight was 38.6 kg or 85 lbs.
