Ducati 125 Aurea (1958-62)

The Ducati 125 Aurea was produced from 1958 to 1962 and featured a four stroke, single cylinder, OHV, pushrod engine with a capacity of 124.4 cc. It had a compression ratio of 6.8:1 and was cooled by air. The motorcycle had a Dell’ Orto ME18BS carburetor, 6V, 28W flywheel magneto ignition, and had to be started by kick. The maximum power it produced was 4.8 kW at 6500 rpm. The transmission was four-speed with a chain final drive and gear ratios of 1st 2.69, 2nd 1.85, 3rd 1.36, and 4th 1:1. The frame was constructed from tubular steel and a duplex full cradle. The Marzocchi hydraulically damped telescopic fork was used for the front suspension and the twin hydraulic shock swingarm for the rear. The motorcycle’s front and rear brakes were 123 x 25 mm double shoe drums. The front tire size was 2.50 – 17 while the rear tire was a size of 2.75-17.
