Ducati 125T / 125TV (1956-60)

The Ducati 125T/TV motorcycle was produced from 1956 to 1960. It had a four-stroke, single-cylinder, OHV, pushrod engine with a capacity of 124.4cc or 7.6 cubic inches. The bore and stroke were 55.2 x 52mm, and the compression ratio was 7.0:1. The bike used air cooling and a dry sump lubrication system, and came in two variations: T with a Dell’Orto MA18B carburetor, and TV with a Dell’Orto ME20B carburetor. The ignition was a 6V, 25W generator, coil with a kick start. The maximum power output was 4.8 kW or 6.5 hp at 6500 rpm. The transmission had four speeds with a chain final drive. The front suspension used hydraulically-damped telescopic forks, and the rear suspension was a swingarm with dual chocks. The brakes were 118mm drums at the front and rear. The bike had 2.50 x 17 front tyres and 2.75 x 17 rear tyres, and a dry weight of 95 kg/209 lbs. The fuel capacity was 14 litres or 3.7 US gallons/3.1 Imperial gallons, and the top speed was 86km/h or 53mph.
