The Kawasaki KR 250, introduced in 1985, was a two-stroke, parallel twin cylinder motorcycle with a liquid-cooled engine and a capacity of 249 cc. The bike had a bore x stroke of 56.0 x 50.6 mm and a compression ratio of 7.4:1, with 2x Keihin PWK 28 induction and capacitor discharge ignition. The KR 250 had a kick-start and was capable of producing 45 hp / 33.5 kW @ 10000 rpm and a maximum torque of 3.7 kgf-m / 26.7 lb-ft @ 8000 rpm. The motorcycle had a 6-speed transmission and a chain final drive, and its front suspension was equipped with air-assisted 35mm forks with 3-way adjustable AVDS anti-dive. The rear suspension was adjustable, with damping and 5-way preload.
