The Maico Supermoto 250 was produced from 2003 to 2007, featuring a single cylinder, two-stroke engine with a displacement of 247 cc. The liquid-cooled engine had a maximum power output of 40.3 kW or 54 hp, and was equipped with a Bing fuel system and 12V 130W SEM ignition. The motorbike had a five-speed transmission with a wet, multiplate clutch and a chain final drive. Its chromolybdenum frame was coupled with WP 48 front suspension and a MAICO twin-link Reiger shock rear suspension.
