Suzuki Colleda 90 (1955)
In 1955, Suzuki introduced the Colleda COX motorcycle with a single cylinder, 4 stroke, transverse, overhead valve engine that had a capacity of 123 cc or 7.5 cubic inches. The bore and stroke was 56 x 50 mm, while the compression ratio was 7:1. The motorcycle used an air-cooling system and had a wet sump for lubrication. The ignition was a flywheel magneto with automatic spark advance and starting was done through a kick mechanism. The Colleda COX had a maximum power output of 3.0 kW or 4.0 hp at 5000 rpm. The motorcycle used a wet, cable-operated clutch mechanism and had a 3-speed transmission. The final drive was done through a chain. The frame was made of steel and the front suspension was a telescopic fork with cartridge while the rear suspension was rigid and had a spring-loaded seat. The front and rear tyres were both 2.75 x 24 inches. The Colleda COX had a top speed of 75 km/h or 46.6 mph.
