Vespa 50 Super Sprint (1965-73)

The Vespa 50 Super Sprint was a popular motorcycle produced from 1965-73. It had a two-stroke, single cylinder engine with a capacity of 49.8 cc / 3.0 cub in, and a compression ratio of 7.2:1. The carburettor was a Dell’Orto 16, and the cooling was air-cooled with a centrifugal fan. The ignition was a flywheel magneto and it had a kick start. The clutch was oil bath with a multi-plate and the transmission was a four-speed grip shift. The frame was made of pressed sheet steel with a streamlined monocoque structure. The suspension consisted of a trailing arm, coil spring, and damper for the front, and coil spring and damper for the rear. The front and rear brakes were 125 mm drums. The wheels were pressed steel flanges, and it had a front and rear tyre of 3 x 10″.
