Ducati 750 F1 (1985)
The Ducati 750 F1 Desmo motorcycle was produced in 1985 with a four-stroke, 748cc L twin-cylinder engine with 2 valves per cylinder and belt-driven SOHC desmodromic technology. It had a compression ratio of 9.3:1 and utilized two 36mm Dell’Orto PHF36 carburetors with a Bosch BTZ electronic ignition system. The bike could produce a maximum power output of 46 kW or 62.5 hp at 7500 rpm, and maximum torque of 61 Nm or 45 ft-lb at 6500 rpm. It had a wet, multiplate clutch and a 5-speed transmission. The primary drive ratio was 1.972:1 with gear ratios of 2.500 (1st), 1.714 (2nd), 1.333 (3rd), 1.074 (4th), and 0.966:1 (5th). The final drive ratio was 2.666:1 using chain drive. The suspension utilized a 38mm Marzocchi telescopic fork in the front and a round section chrome-moly steel swingarm with an adjustable (for preload) cantilever mono-shock, Marzocchi PVS 4, in the rear. The bike had 2 x 280mm front discs with a single-piston caliper and a single 260mm rear disc for braking. It had a length of 2110mm, a width of 690mm, a height of 1130mm, and a wheelbase of 1400mm.
