The Harley Davidson FXSTD-SE Screamin’ Eagle Softail Deuce motorcycle was produced in 2003, with a four stroke, 45-degree V-Twin engine that had a capacity of 1584cc/96 cu-in. The engine was equipped with hydraulic self-adjusting lifters and two valves per cylinder. The electronic sequential port fuel injection (ESPFI) provided efficient fuel control. The bike had a single-fire, non-wasted, map-controlled spark ignition and an electric start.

The Softail Deuce had a multi-plate, wet clutch and a five-speed transmission with a final drive belt. The bike also included twin-disc front brakes and a single-disc rear brake with custom fork suspension. The frame was made of mild steel and had a rectangular section backbone with twin downtubes.
