Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade (2006)

The Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade was released in 2006 and has a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder, DOHC engine with a capacity of 998 cc/60.9 cu-in. It has a liquid cooling system, 6-speed transmission, and a chain final drive. The CBR 1000RR Fireblade has a maximum power of 126.4 kW/172 hp at 11250 rpm and a maximum torque of 115 Nm/11.73 kg-m at 10000 rpm. The motorcycle has a top speed of 277.7 km/h and can reach a standing 1/4 mile in 10.6 seconds.

The CBR 1000RR Fireblade features a 43mm inverted HMAS cartridge fork with spring preload, rebound, and compression damping adjustability, and a Pro-Link single shock with spring preload, rebound, and compression damping adjustability. It has a front brake of 2x320mm discs and a rear brake of a single 220mm disc, with a seat height of 828 mm/32.3 in and a ground clearance of 130 mm/5.1 in. The motorcycle has a fuel capacity of 18 litres/4.8 gal and an average consumption of 16.5 km/lit.

The Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade had modifications made to its engine, including new pistons and an altered head, which boosted its power, and lower final drive ratios that improved acceleration. The Ten Kate Blade, which used the CBR 1000RR Fireblade, won its first world championship in 2007 with James Toseland. In the same year, John McGuinness broke the 130mph average TT lap barrier with a 130.354mph lap.
