The Honda XL600R Paris Dakar motorcycle was first released in 1985. It features a single-cylinder engine with a capacity of 589cc and a compression ratio of 9.0:1. Induction is through 2 x 28mm piston valves, and the bike starts via primary kick with automatic compression release. The XL600R can put out a maximum power of 33 kW at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 48.8 Nm at 5000 rpm. The bike has a 5-speed transmission and a final drive chain. The front suspension consists of 39mm Showa air-adjustable leading-axle forks with dual Syntallic bushings, while the rear suspension is a Pro-link with adjustable rebound damping.
