Kawasaki GPz 400R (1988-89)

The Kawasaki GPz 400R, also known as the ZX 400, was produced from 1988-89. It features a liquid-cooled four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder, DOHC engine with a capacity of 399cc and a compression ratio of 11.5:1. The induction system is made up of four Keihin CVKD30 carburetors, with CDI being used for ignition. The motorcycle has an electric starter with a maximum power output of 59 hp at 12,000 rpm and max torque of 3.6 kgf-m at 10,500 rpm. The bike also comes with a wet multi-disc clutch and six-speed transmission, with the final drive being a chain gear ratio. Its frame is an aluminum diamond tubular, double cradle with a secondary reduction ratio of 2.933 (44/15) and a total reduction ratio of 7.154 (6-speed). Suspension consists of 41mm telescopic forks in the front and a rising rate monoshock in the rear. The GPz 400R has a front brake system made up of two 300mm discs with four-piston calipers and a single 240mm disc with one piston caliper in the rear.
