Maico MD 125/6 (1971-76)

The Maico MD 125/6 was a motorcycle produced from 1971 to 1976. It had a single cylinder, two stroke engine with a capacity of 124 cc and a compression ratio of 11:1. The oil/fuel mixture was 1:25 and ignition was provided by a Bosch flywheel magneto. The fuel system was a Bing slide carburetor with a 26 mm diameter. The bike had a 6-speed transmission with a final drive chain. The frame was a double cradle, tubular design and the front suspension used Marzocchi forks while the rear suspension was a swing arm with 2 spring legs. Brakes were drum type with aluminium full hubs, 136 mm in size. Wheels were made from steel alloy and had laced wire spokes with front tyre size of 2.50 x 16 in and rear tyre size of 3.00 x 16 in. The bike had a wet weight of 99 kg with a fuel capacity of 13.5 L. Top speed was claimed to be 125 km/h or 77.7 mph. The Maico MD 125/6 was available in red, blue or orange.
