Yamaha DT 175 (1974-75)

The Yamaha DT 175 was a popular motorcycle in the mid-1970s with a two-stroke, single-cylinder, reed valve engine with a capacity of 171 cc. The bike had a maximum power output of 16.5 hp at 7000 rpm and a maximum torque of 8.8 Nm at 6000rpm. It used a Mikuni VM24SS carburettor and a CDI magneto type ignition. The bike had a five-speed transmission system and a chain-driven final drive. Its frame was constructed with welded, tubular, double cradle with a single downtube. The front suspension system used telescopic, oil-damped forks while the rear suspension used dual shocks. The front and rear brakes were drum type, and the bike had a castor angle of 60 degrees. It weighed 99 kg dry and had a fuel capacity of 7 litres.
